HOW TO INTEGRATE WEATHER CONDITIONS INTO SCHEDULING AND ROUTE PLANNING
28 April 2021 · Jeremy Squire
With FLS software solutions, weather factors such as wind speed and temperature can be taken into account in scheduling and tour planning right from the start.
First, the influencing weather conditions are defined, e.g. the minimum or maximum temperature at the time of service or delivery or the minimum or maximum wind speed for carrying out a service call. Based on these restrictions, only appointments that meet these specifications are proposed and assigned in scheduling.
TAKING TEMPERATURE AND WIND SPEED INTO ACCOUNT IN SCHEDULING AND ROUTE PLANNING
The weather restrictions set are also taken into account in the continuous optimisation of already agreed appointments and planned routes. In this way, appointments are rescheduled or escalated fully automatically if, for example, they no longer comply with the temperature and wind speed specifications by the defined deadline or measurement period.
With "Weather Restrictions", FLS offers the possibility to schedule delivery and technician assignments fully automatically on the basis of weather data and to further optimise already planned routes and appointments on the basis of weather restrictions.
